I got a phone call from my partner asking what I would think about having a ferret?
Now knowing very little about ferrets, apart from they smell and bite, I said 'No, no F*^#ing way'.
So he brought him home anyway! Love your work babe.
But now that Jekyll is here, I love him and the kids love him (even though he still gives them little 'love' bites). My little lovelies, love that they can walk him (coz they can't walk our dog) on his harness and that he is so playful and funny to watch. Although my terrible teen is sooooo embarrassed that we have such a 'feral' pet. Funnily enough I've always called my kids 'The 3 Ferals' when talking about them as group! So I just said to her 'A feral pet for feral kids!'. Terrible teen response...'Whatever Mum'.
But any who!
I would recommend Ferrets for pets if you have some time to spend with them everyday (time spent with them helps to socialise and make them more friendly to people), can make sure that they always have fresh water and food & that they get time out of their cage at least every 2nd day. They are a great pet if you are in a unit or have no yard.
You have to be careful near them if you have a cold, as they can catch the human cold and also pass it back to you!
I would not recommend that you allow your ferret near small animals such as guinea pigs, bird, rabbits etc, as they will try to eat them! Not very nice for your other pets!
I love Dr. Jekyll, he always makes me laugh when I am feeling down!
Now if I could just teach him how to do housework.......

I’d agree with you, but then we’d both be wrong!
I’m sorry, I’m a little busy. Can I ignore you later?
